Specimen Required: Patient Preparation:Draw specimens 12 hours after initiating therapy for arrhythmia prophylaxis, then every 24 hours thereafter.
Collect:Plain red. Also acceptable: green (sodium heparin).
Specimen Preparation:Separate serum from cells immediately. Transfer 1 mL serum to an RDL Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 0.5 mL)
Storage/Transport Temperature:Refrigerated.
Stability:After separation from cells: Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 month
