| Specimen Required: | Patient Preparation:Overnight fasting specimen is required. Collect:Lavender (EDTA) or Pink (K2EDTA) for platelet count AND Serum Separator Tube (SST). Specimen Preparation:Separate from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer 2 mL serum to an RDL Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 1.2 mL) Storage/Transport Temperature:Serum: Frozen. Do not send the EDTA whole blood to RDL. Stability:Serum: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 48 hours; Frozen: 2 weeks |
