Collect: Plain red. Also acceptable: Lavender (EDTA), pink (K2EDTA), green (sodium heparin), or gray (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate).
Specimen Preparation: Separate from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer 0.5 mL serum or plasma to an RDL Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 0.2 mL)
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.
Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 5 days (if tightly capped); Refrigerated: 1 week (if tightly capped); Frozen: 1 month
