Specimen Required: Patient Preparation:
Collect:CSF AND serum separator tube. Serum specimen should be drawn within 48 hours of CSF collection.
Specimen Preparation:Centrifuge and separate CSF to remove cellular material. Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer 1 mL CSF AND 1 mL serum to individual RDL Standard Transport Tubes. (Min: 0.4 mL CSF AND 0.4 mL serum)
Storage/Transport Temperature:Refrigerated.
Stability:Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 8 days; Frozen: 1 year (if frozen within 24 hours)
